Christopher A. Jones is a Professor at The Ohio State University, specializing in early medieval languages, literatures, and history. His expertise spans Old English, Medieval Latin, manuscript studies, liturgical history, and monastic culture. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto (1995), an MA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1990), and a BA from the University of the South at Sewanee (1988).
His research focuses on textual criticism, monastic practices, and the transmission of classical literature in the medieval period. Recent publications include critical editions of works like Ælfric's Letter to the Monks of Eynsham and studies of Cluniac liturgical poetry. Current projects involve Alcuin’s intellectual circle and an edition of Odo of Cluny’s Occupatio.
Dr. Jones has contributed essays to journals such as Anglo-Saxon England, Medieval Studies, and Speculum, reflecting his interdisciplinary approach to medieval textual and cultural history.
