Christophe Soligo

Christophe Soligo is a Professor of Evolutionary Anthropology at University College London (UCL), where he leads research and teaching in primate evolution, paleoecology, and evolutionary anatomy. He serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Folia Primatologica and Head of the Biological Anthropology Section.

His research focuses on the adaptive origins of primate radiations, integrating evolutionary anatomy and paleoecology. He investigates key features driving primate divergence, taphonomic biases in fossil records, and the interplay between morphology and environmental change over geological time.

Recent publications highlight his work on mammalian brain evolution, cranial morphology in primates, and functional adaptations in extinct mammals like cave bears. His methodological innovations include 3D geometric morphometrics and quantitative taphonomic analysis.
