Christoph Schlemmer is a Research Fellow at the University of Tübingen's Faculty of Humanities, Department of History, and Institute of Modern History since 2018. His work focuses on the history of rural regions, sociability, and spatial practices during classical modernity, particularly through the lens of country houses and their social networks.
- Education: MA in History (2017), BA in History and Philosophy (2015) from the University of Tübingen
- Current research: PhD project 'Landhäuser im Wandel – Country Houses in Times of Change' (sub-project 2)
- Contact: Hölderlinstraße 19, Tübingen, Room 106
His research combines actor network theory, spatial analysis, and sociability studies to challenge traditional urban-centric narratives of modernity. Using estate archives, he examines microhistorical case studies like rural community conflicts and railway development committees to reveal complex transformations in country house environments around 1900.
