Christoph Paetz is a research associate at the Institute of Macroeconomics and Business Cycle Research (IMK) of the Hans Böckler Foundation, within the Tax and Fiscal Policy Department. He also teaches regularly at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW).
Education:
- BA in Economics, Berlin School of Economics and Law (2009–2014)
- MA in International Economics, Berlin School of Economics and Law
- PhD, University of Duisburg-Essen — Dissertation: "Rules versus discretion: the macroeconomic dynamics and hysteresis of fiscal policy"
International Experience: Visiting scholar at the New School for Social Research (NSSR) in New York City and completed a study visit to the CSU Fresno Craig School of Business in the USA.
Research Interests: His research focuses on European economic policy, tax and fiscal policy, fiscal rules, macroeconomic performance, and econometric modeling.
Professional Background: He has completed internships at the German Embassy in London, the German Trade Union Confederation, and the IMK. From 2013 to 2014, he worked as a student assistant at the Institute for International Political Economy (IPE) in Berlin.
