Christoph Nedopil Wang is a Professor of Economics and Director of the Griffith Asia Institute at Griffith University. He also serves as a Visiting Professor at Fudan University (Shanghai) and Visiting Faculty at Singapore Management University. His research focuses on sustainable finance, green finance, and development economics, with significant contributions to UNDP, G20, and Asian Development Bank initiatives. He holds a PhD in Economics from Technical University Berlin and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
Education: Master of Engineering (Technical University Berlin), PhD in Economics (Technical University Berlin), Master of Public Administration (Harvard Kennedy School).
Research Interests: Sustainable finance, climate finance, green development guidance, corporate governance in Asia, and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Key outputs include the UNDP SDG Finance Taxonomy and reports for G20 and ADB.
Teaching & Capacity Building: Leads executive education programs on green finance for institutions like the Asian Development Bank and World Bank. Has trained over 1,000 board directors globally through courses on corporate governance and climate leadership.
Grants & Collaborations: Current projects include Vietnam Net Zero transitions (DFAT-funded) and Climate Finance (PLN). Previously directed the Green Finance & Development Center at Fudan University and the Green BRI Center at IIGF.
Labs/Teams: Griffith Asia Institute, collaborating with UNDP, World Bank, and regional governments on sustainability initiatives.
