Christoffer Bagger

Christoffer Bagger is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Media and Communication Studies at the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, University of Copenhagen, currently attached to the research group "Follow Me: The Influence of Danish Digital Media Creators (FoMe)". His work examines how digital media reshapes labor dynamics and organizational structures across multiple institutional contexts.

Bagger investigates the erosion of work-life boundaries through digital platforms, datafication of labor processes, and emergent phenomena like digital resignation. His research bridges media studies, organizational sociology, and critical technology studies to analyze power dynamics in algorithmically mediated workplaces and welfare systems.

Analysis of his 2021-2024 publications reveals three dominant trajectories: (1) Enterprise social media's role in workplace datafication and productivity metrics, (2) Digital disconnection practices as resistance to platform capitalism, and (3) Welfare state automation's impact on citizenship. These intersect through his core framework examining how media technologies redefine labor categorization and value production.

Bagger has lectured on Audiovisual Communication, IT-Infrastructures, and Digital Platforms within the Communication and IT programme, while contributing to major funded initiatives including the Velux project on elderly media use, DFF's "Personalizing the professional" project, and CHANSE's AUTO-WELF consortium on European welfare automation.

He actively participates in the FoMe research collective at the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, which analyzes Danish digital creators' influence on cultural production and audience engagement through longitudinal case studies.
