Prof. Dr. Christof Rolker is a Professor of Basic Historical Sciences at the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies, Otto-Friedrich University, Bamberg. His research intersects Medieval History, Canon Law, and Gender Studies, with a focus on legal knowledge systems, naming practices, and medieval manuscripts. He has led the Clavis Canonum research project and extensively studied the Bamberg Emperor Henry Library.

His research explores pre-Gratian canon law, gender ambiguity, and monastic legal traditions. Professor Rolker contributes to digital humanities and interdisciplinary medieval studies, often collaborating on projects involving Italian archives and Alpine naming conventions. His editorial work includes the New Discourses in Medieval Canon Law Research (2019) and Competing Affiliations (2011).
