Christine Webb is an Adjunct Professor at New York University's Arts & Science division, and concurrently serves as a Lecturer and Research Associate in Harvard University's Department of Human Evolutionary Biology, as well as a Visiting Scholar at Utrecht University's Animal Ecology and Welfare Program. Her research focuses on primatology, challenging anthropocentric biases in scientific inquiry, and exploring animal agency, emotion, and ethical frameworks. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Columbia University (2015) and a B.A. in Psychology from Emory University (2008). Webb's work critiques human exceptionalism, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to understanding non-human cognition and welfare. She has contributed to initiatives like the NYU Wild Animal Welfare Program and co-authored an obituary for Frans de Waal in Current Biology. Her forthcoming book, The Arrogant Ape, advocates for decentering humans in ecological and scientific discourse.
