Christine Schallmoser is Senior Lecturer in German Language Education and Language Director at King's College London. Her research focuses on language acquisition, learning, and teaching, particularly exploring the psychology of language learning, decolonization of language curricula, and sociolinguistics. She was awarded King's Race Equity & Inclusive Education Fund for her project on inclusion and decolonization in modern language curricula.
Schallmoser collaborates on an international project examining emotions in language classrooms and has investigated e-Tandem language learning effects. She teaches German language and culture modules, translation, and sociolinguistic developments in German-speaking countries. In 2018, she received the King's Academy Teaching Excellence Award for Sustained Excellence.
