Dr. Christine Anton is a Professor of German at Berry College, specializing in 19th-21st century German and Austrian literature, second language acquisition, and Holocaust legacy discourse. She holds a B.A. in English and German from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen and graduate degrees in German Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her work bridges literary analysis with pedagogical innovation, including co-authoring the textbook Sag Mal.
Research focuses on cultural identity, memory politics, and narrative techniques in German-language works. Notable contributions include studies on Bernhard Schlink’s national identity narratives, Adalbert Stifter’s poetic realism, and Turkish-German displacement literature. She has taught at SUNY and UNC-Chapel Hill before joining Berry.
