Her research investigates how kinship-based care networks in Jordan redefine health, illness, and normality through familial experiences with Down Syndrome. Broad interests include disability rights, reproductive technologies, and bioethics in cross-cultural contexts, with methodological emphasis on ethnographic studies.
Recent publications highlight intersections of disability, culture, and healthcare in Jordan, Gaza, and the broader Middle East. Her 2026 monograph Making Down Syndrome examines maternal perspectives on diagnosis and kinship futures. Collaborative works address disability in conflict zones and global bioethical frameworks.
Christine teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in medical anthropology, disability studies, globalization, and bioethics. She is affiliated with the university's Center for Bioethics and Humanities.
