Prof. Dr. Christine Kaufmann holds the Chair of Public Law, International and European Law at the University of Zurich's Faculty of Law. She maintains her office at Rämistrasse 74/5 in Zurich and serves as a key figure at the Competence Center for Human Rights (MRZ) at the University of Zurich.
Her research focuses on Public Law, International Law, European Law, and Human Rights with particular emphasis on corporate responsibility frameworks. Prof. Kaufmann has published on topics including non-financial reporting requirements and due diligence obligations under Swiss law, with recent work examining Articles 964 a-c and 964 j-l of the Swiss Code of Obligations concerning conflict minerals and child labor.
Prof. Kaufmann is directing the Certificate for Advanced Studies in Responsible Business Conduct (CAS in RBC), launching in February 2024, which aims to support professionals in implementing evolving standards in corporate governance. She also supervises doctoral students at the University of Zurich.
Her scholarly contributions include commentary on the Bernese Commentary on Swiss Private Law: Company Law (2023), reflecting her expertise in corporate legal frameworks.
Prof. Kaufmann actively participates in academic events through the MRZ and Ursula Brunner Lecture Series, including upcoming events on climate remedies and business ethics.
