Christine Evans

Christine Evans is Assistant Professor of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of British Columbia, cross-appointed with Arts One. Her research bridges film theory, Lacanian psychoanalysis, and pedagogical innovation, with a focus on Slavoj Žižek's work. She authored Slavoj Žižek: A Cinematic Ontology (forthcoming) and has published in Journal of Cinema and Media Studies and Film-Philosophy.

Pedagogical research emphasizes redesigning traditional teaching methods and learning technologies for film/media studies. She investigates how ideological frameworks intersect with evidence-based teaching practices.
