Christine D'Alexander serves as Associate Professor of Instrumental Music Education at Northern Illinois University's School of Music within the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Her academic journey includes a D.M.A. in Music Education from the University of Southern California and B.M. in Viola Performance from Arizona State University.
Her research examines community youth orchestra participation and music program integration in underserved neighborhoods, with fieldwork spanning multiple continents. She applies dual Kodály and Orff certifications to develop culturally responsive pedagogical frameworks for diverse urban settings.
Recent publications analyze cross-cultural participation trends and sustainable program models, reflecting her international presentation record across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
