معرفی
Dr. Christine Anderson is a Professor in the Department of Biological and Environmental Science at Capital University, where she has taught since 2009. She holds the Geist Endowed Chair in Biology and serves as faculty advisor for the environmental club CapGreen. Dr. Anderson supervises undergraduate research projects in conservation genetics and ecosystem studies, with active work on amphibian disease testing and American chestnut restoration.
Education
- Ph.D. in Zoology, Miami University (Oxford, OH)
- M.S. in Zoology, Miami University (Oxford, OH)
- B.S. in Zoology, Ohio State University (Columbus, OH)
Research Focus
Her research integrates molecular ecology and conservation biology, specializing in environmental DNA applications for wildlife disease detection, species identification, and habitat restoration. Current investigations include amphibian pathogen screening, salamander larval identification, and genetic approaches to ecosystem rehabilitation in Ohio.
Publication Trends
Recent articles demonstrate consistent focus on Ohio's ecosystems through pathogen surveillance, biodiversity assessments, and habitat quality studies. Collaborative work with students emphasizes zoonotic diseases, fungal diversity, and amphibian ecology using field and molecular methods.
Honors
- Geist Endowed Chair in Biology
Student Advising
As primary advisor for Biology and Environmental Science majors, she mentors undergraduate researchers in molecular diagnostics and field ecology. Supervised projects include amphibian monitoring at Primmer Outdoor Learning Center and tick-borne pathogen detection studies.
