Christina Papaspyrou serves as Lecturer in Stage Management and Employability and Performance and Events Coordinator at Canterbury Christ Church University's School of Arts and Culture, leveraging over three decades of professional theatre experience in her academic role.
She graduated from Brunel University in 1990, followed by extensive industry work before joining academia. Her pre-university career included significant positions as Programme Manager for Arts Council England's Creative Partnerships (2006-2010) and Festival Coordinator for Canterbury Anifest.
Ms. Papaspyrou's expertise centers on practical stage management for large-scale productions and event coordination, with research interests focused on theatre production techniques, creative sector employability pathways, and arts education methodologies. Her teaching directly integrates real-world industry practices developed through hands-on experience.
Her professional background features collaborations with major institutions including the Royal Shakespeare Company (2001-2005), Millennium Dome (1999), and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group, working on productions such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Chess, and Evita across international venues and community projects.
