Michael Vernau is a Lecturer and Course Coordinator for Sound at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), part of Edith Cowan University. He teaches units such as CUASOU421 (Mix Audio for Live Productions), CUASOU412 (Manage Audio Input Sources), and CUASTA512 (Manage Show Control Operations).
Career Background: With over 25 years of experience (since 1996) as a FOH engineer, monitor engineer, and audio system technician, he has worked with artists like Emily Wurramurra, The Superjesus, and Jimmy Barnes, as well as theatre productions for musicals like Chess and Evita. He also provides live sound services for festivals such as Darwin Festival and Womad.
