Dr. Christina Michailidou is an Assistant Professor at the University of Nicosia's Department of Health Sciences, School of Life and Health Sciences. She holds dual physiotherapy certifications in the UK and Italy. Her academic journey includes a Physiotherapy degree from the Higher Technical Educational Institution of Thessaloniki, followed by an MSc in Neurorehabilitation and a PhD in Health from Brunel University London (2012), funded by the EPSRC. Her research spans chronic fatigue syndrome rehabilitation, spinal cord injury management, and neurorehabilitation. Notably, she contributed to the PACE trial, the world's largest CFS randomized trial, and co-authored the first Graded Exercise Therapy self-help guide.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on chronic fatigue rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation techniques, spinal cord injury outcomes, and the impact of modern lifestyle factors (e.g., lockdowns) on mental and physical health. She has pioneered studies on exergaming in Parkinson's disease and explored pandemic-related burnout in healthcare professionals.
Her recent publications analyze lockdown effects on university communities' mental health, sedentary behavior impacts, and burnout mitigation strategies. She has collaborated on international projects involving Greece, Cyprus, the UK, and the USA, emphasizing cross-cultural healthcare challenges.
