University College Londonمعرفی
Dr Christina M. Anderson serves as a Principal Research Fellow at University College London's School of European Languages, Culture and Society (SELCS), where she leads the £1.6 million UKRI-funded project 'Connecting Histories, Connecting Heritage: Early Modern Cities and Their Afterlives' as a Future Leaders Fellow. Her interdisciplinary work bridges academic research, heritage practice, and artistic performance, with particular recognition for carillon performance as intangible cultural heritage.
Her research spans critical heritage studies, museum and archive theory, transnational history, art history, and urban studies. With expertise in material culture and collecting practices, she examines European and global historical connections through furniture history, decorative arts, and architectural heritage. Her work integrates digital methodologies with traditional historical analysis to explore sustainable urban heritage development.
Anderson's publications reveal consistent focus on cross-cultural material exchanges, particularly in early modern Europe. Her book series 'A Cultural History of Furniture' examines imperial trade networks, colonial material flows, and craft traditions across historical periods. Recent scholarship analyzes merchant networks like the Hellemans family's jewelry trade and the Gonzaga art collection sale, demonstrating how commercial activities shaped cultural heritage.
