Christina Andrews

Christina M. Andrews is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Service Policy and Management at the Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina. Her email is candrews@mailbox.sc.edu, and her office is located in Discovery 344.

Dr. Andrews’ research focuses on public financing mechanisms for substance use disorder treatment, particularly within Medicaid frameworks. Her work includes leading two NIH-funded national studies examining how Medicaid managed care impacts access to alcohol and opioid use disorder treatments. She also serves as Regional Editor for the Americas for Addiction, a leading international journal in addiction research.

Her research has been supported by prestigious organizations including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), and National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA).

Dr. Andrews is affiliated with the South Carolina Center of Excellence in Addiction Research and Teaching, where she contributes to interdisciplinary efforts addressing addiction challenges.
