Christie Jenkins

Dr. Christie Jenkins is a Professor at Walden University, serving as Co-Faculty Advisor for the institution's LGBTQ+ PRIDE initiative. She concurrently holds leadership roles as President of SAIGE, advocating nationally for gender-expansive communities. With 27 years of clinical experience specializing in interpersonal violence (IPV) and 17 years as a counselor educator, her practice centers on inner-city trauma interventions.

Her research examines disparities in IPV services for LGBTGEQIAP+ populations, emphasizing social justice frameworks and systemic advocacy. Key focuses include:

• Culturally affirming therapeutic practices
• Legislative policy reform for survivor support
• Reducing barriers to mental health access

She has received multiple awards for contributions to:

• Legislative advocacy
