Christian Ulrik Andersen is an Associate Professor at Aarhus University's Department of Digital Design and Information Studies within the School of Communication and Culture. His research focuses on digital aesthetics, interface criticism, and computational approaches to cultural and environmental issues. He is a core member of the DARC Digital Aesthetics Research Center.
Key research themes include metainterface theory, virtual conferencing politics, climate art praxis, and post-digital media critique. He has led projects like 'ServPub – Infrastructures of Publishing' and 'SHAPE - Digital Citizenship / Digital Activism'.
Andersen has published extensively in peer-reviewed platforms including Peer-Reviewed Newspaper and Electronic Book Review, exploring topics such as algorithmic aesthetics, datafication critique, and protest aesthetics in digital spaces.
