Christian Soffel is a Professor of Sinology at the University of Trier, Faculty II. His research focuses on the cultural and intellectual history of China, particularly Confucianism from the 12th to 20th century, traditional Chinese literature, Confucian canon theory, and Zhu Xi studies.
