Christian Schroer is a Professor at the University of Hamburg and Leading Scientist at DESY, Germany's national laboratory for particle physics and photon science. He serves as Co-Spokesperson of the Cluster of Excellence 'Understanding Written Artefacts' (UWA) and Head of the High Performance Lab. His research focuses on X-ray microscopy, X-ray optics, and synchrotron radiation applications across physics, chemistry, and cultural heritage preservation. He holds a doctoral degree in mathematical physics and has held academic positions at TU Dresden and RWTH Aachen University.
