Christian Robelin is a Researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. He holds a B.Eng. from ESPCI Paris, an M.Sc.A. from Polytechnique Montréal, and a DEA & Ph.D. from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI). As a member of the Centre de recherche en calcul thermochimique (CRCT), he specializes in thermodynamic modeling of inorganic systems with industrial applications in metallurgy and materials science.
His research focuses on:
- Thermodynamic modeling of multi-component salt systems (electrolytes, ionic liquids)
- Phase diagram calculations for molten salts and high-temperature corrosion
- Physical property prediction (density, viscosity, conductivity) of ionic systems
- Development of thermochemical databases for industrial processes
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on computational thermodynamics, with recent work emphasizing ionic liquids for green chemistry applications and thermodynamic models for corrosion-resistant materials. Article keywords frequently include phase equilibria, molten salts, viscosity modeling, and high-temperature systems.
He has supervised 6 graduate students including 1 doctoral candidate (S. Benalia, 2023) and 5 Master's students (2023-2017). His laboratory affiliations include the CRCT where he collaborates on the FactSage thermochemical software development. Contact: christian.robelin@polymtl.ca.
