Christian (Chris) J. Hellings is an Assistant Professor in the Applied Mathematics Department at the University of Virginia, on the Academic General Faculty Teaching Track. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from UVA and previously worked as a mathematical analyst at Metron Inc. and as faculty at Gwynedd Mercy University (2004–2020). His research focuses on operator theory, voting system mathematics, and improving undergraduate math education.
