Christian Hilber

Christian Hilber holds a full-time Full Professorship in Economic Geography at the London School of Economics and a part-time (20%) Professorship in Real Estate Finance and Economics at the University of Zurich. He earned his doctorate from the University of Basel (1998) and has held roles including Deputy Head of Department at LSE and affiliation with the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP). His research focuses on Urban Economics, Real Estate markets, Housing policy, and Political Economy.

Education: PhD in Economics (University of Basel, 1998), postdoc at Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania). Teaching includes Real Estate Economics courses at both institutions.

Recent research highlights include analyses of housing market dynamics in the UK and Switzerland, urban planning policies, and the economic implications of restrictive zoning. His work bridges theoretical and applied economics, emphasizing policy-relevant insights.
