Max Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopyمعرفی
Professor Christian Hackenberger leads the Chemical Biology Department at the Leibniz Research Institute for Molecular Pharmacology (FMP) and holds a professorship at Free University of Berlin's Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry. His research bridges chemical synthesis and biological applications through innovative protein engineering approaches.
His primary research interests include:
- Development of chemoselective protein modification techniques
- Nanobody functionalization for cellular delivery
- Protein glycosylation and folding studies
- Multivalent drug conjugate systems
- Semi-synthetic mucin analysis
Honors include the prestigious Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize (2011) for early-career excellence in chemical biology. His group maintains active collaborations through DFG-funded networks including Collaborative Research Center SFB 1340 and Research Training Group GRK 2473.
As former speaker of Priority Program SPP 1623, he coordinated nationwide research on functional protein synthesis. Current supervision involves mentoring doctoral researchers in GRK 2473's peptide science program and leading multiple subprojects within SFB 1340's matrix biology framework.
