Christian Haase

Christian Haase is a Professor at Freie Universität Berlin, specializing in nonlinear algebraic research areas such as polytopes, polynomials, toric algebra, and tropical geometry. His current research focuses on linking population genetics to tropical geometry, computing topological invariants of complete intersections in toric varieties, and investigating Hilbert series of alcoved polytopes. He maintains active collaborations with the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (MPI MiS) in Leipzig, Germany, where he regularly visits and has contributed to organizational efforts like the Chow Lectures 2020.
