Dr Christian Gray is a Senior Lecturer in the Academy for Medical Education at the University of Queensland. He joined in 2019 and holds roles as course coordinator and module lead, focusing on medical education, student support, and assessment strategies. Previously, he was a Lecturer in Infection and Immunity at the University of Plymouth, UK, and conducted postdoctoral research in immunology, including work on vaccines and immune responses in cattle and human melanoma.
Education: PhD in Immunology from the University of Newcastle (2002), Postgraduate Diploma in Academic Practice (Plymouth University), and Honours in Biotechnology (Flinders University).
Research interests include enhancing student performance through interventions, medical licensing exam preparation, and supporting students with disabilities. His work bridges biomedical research and pedagogy, emphasizing remediation strategies and formative assessment.
Publications span medical education, immunology, and parasitology, with recent focuses on USMLE Step 1 preparation, modified assessments, and student remediation. He has contributed to textbooks on medical licensing exams and presented at conferences globally.
He is available for supervision and has advised doctoral research in parasitology and medical education.
