Christa Hogan

Christa Hogan is a Senior Lecturer and BSW Program Director in the School of Social Work at Monmouth University. A licensed clinical social worker since 2005, she brings extensive practice experience across multiple settings including child behavioral health, schools, private practice, and gerontological services.

Her research evaluates gerontological curriculum delivery, service-learning models, gatekeeping procedures in social work education, caregiving challenges, and trauma-informed teaching approaches. She develops innovative educational programs including intergenerational initiatives and virtual volunteer experiences connecting students with older adults.

Her clinical expertise encompasses nursing home care, hospice, rehabilitation services, and caregiver support. She maintains a private practice providing clinical supervision and has presented nationally on gerontological practice, trauma-informed education, and gatekeeping protocols.
