Chrissy h Roberts

Dr. Chrissy h Roberts is an Associate Professor in the Clinical Research Department within the Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). She serves as the lead scientist of the LSHTM Global Health Analytics Group and has extensive experience in multi-disciplinary research spanning epidemiology, laboratory sciences, and data analytics.

Her research interests focus on leveraging emerging technology for public health benefit, with particular expertise in electronic data systems for health emergencies, scalable low-cost laboratory diagnostics, and integrated surveillance of infectious diseases. She applies mixed methods from epidemiology, laboratory sciences, and data science to address global public health challenges, with strong emphasis on One Health approaches and outbreak response.

Dr. Roberts' recent publications demonstrate a clear trajectory toward innovative data collection and management solutions for global health emergencies, particularly in Ebola vaccine trials and trachoma elimination programs. Her work consistently bridges technological innovation with practical field applications in resource-limited settings across Africa and the Western Pacific.

As a dedicated mentor, Dr. Roberts currently supervises multiple PhD and DrPH students working on projects related to AI applications in women's health, community-based surveillance, and transborder epidemiology. Her research has been supported by substantial grants from NIHR, DHSC, CEPI, FCDO/UKAID, GHLabs, and various foundations totaling over £30 million. She leads the Global Health Analytics Group which provides comprehensive data science services through the ODK platform, developing innovative solutions for data collection, management, and analysis in global health contexts.
