Chris Reinhard is an Associate Professor at the School of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on biogeochemical processes in oxygen-deficient environments, carbon cycle dynamics, planetary habitability, and atmospheric biosignatures.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from University of California, Riverside (2012)
- M.S. in Earth Sciences from University of California, Riverside (2008)
- B.S. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from University of Kansas (2005)
Research Keywords:
- Astrobiology
- Biogeochemistry
- Climate Science
- Oceanography
- Space & Planetary Science
Scientific Awards:
- O.K. Earl Postdoctoral Fellowship (Caltech, 2012)
- Roland Blanchard Fellowship (UC Riverside, 2009)
- Chancellor's Distinguished Fellowship (UC Riverside, 2006)
Reinhard investigates Earth's chemical evolution and applies these insights to understanding planetary habitability and potential biosignatures in extraterrestrial environments. His work bridges geochemistry, climate science, and astrobiology.
