Chris Reeves

Chris Reeves is a Lecturer in the Department of Art History, Theory, and Criticism at the Art Institute of Chicago. He holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research focuses on intersections between art and technology, Fluxus, performance art, and alternative pedagogical practices. Reeves actively engages in creative research, curating exhibitions and organizing participatory events that explore dialogical relationships between text, material, and audience.

Recent academic contributions include co-editing The World's Worst: A Guide to the Portsmouth Sinfonia (2020) and presenting at conferences such as CAA, MLA, and SLSA. His creative projects span installations, performances, and publications like Expanded Art History for Plants and Rhythm/Rythmn Society, emphasizing collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches.

Reeves teaches courses on modern and contemporary art, performance art history, and utopian art movements.
