Chris Parker is a registered adult nurse and holds the District Nursing Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) with community nurse prescribing (V100). Currently at Northumbria University, he serves as the pathway lead for the District Nursing SPQ and teaches on pre-registration nursing programs and the Health and Social Care Continuing Professional Development (CPD) framework. His research focuses on the lived experience of being homebound and its implications for healthcare provision, as part of his ongoing PhD. Prior to academia, he worked in acute surgery, primary care, and community nursing roles.

Research interests include holistic generalist care in community settings and the impact of homebound status on healthcare delivery. His academic contributions bridge clinical practice and education, particularly in district nursing and interdisciplinary care.
