Chris Myers is Professor and Department Chair of Electrical, Computer & Energy Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering and Chinese History from California Institute of Technology (1991), and MSEE and PhD degrees from Stanford University (1993, 1995). Previously, he served as professor and associate chair at the University of Utah. His research laboratory focuses on asynchronous circuit design, formal verification of analog/mixed-signal circuits, cyber-physical systems, and genetic circuit modeling.
Myers has authored over 180 technical papers and textbooks including Asynchronous Circuit Design and Engineering Genetic Circuits. He holds editorial positions with ACS Synthetic Biology, Engineering Biology, and Synthetic Biology, and has served on editorial boards for IEEE publications.
He leads the development of standards for systems and synthetic biology, serving as editor for the Systems Biology Markup Language (SBML) and chair of steering committees for Synthetic Biology Open Language (SBOL).
