Guy-Bart Stan is a Professor in Imperial College London's Department of Bioengineering and Co-Director of the Centre for Synthetic Biology. His research develops control-theoretic approaches for synthetic biology, including biomolecular feedback systems, host-aware genetic circuits, and microbial consortia coordination. Stan pioneers resource-aware modeling of gene expression burden, RNA-based toggle switches, and stochastic control strategies for biochemical networks. He leads the UKRI AI-4-EB Consortium integrating AI and engineering biology. Awards include Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies and EPSRC Engineering Fellowship.
