Chris Gleason serves as MECA Instructor at VanderCook College of Music. He holds a BME from UW-Eau Claire (1997) and a Master's from UW-LaCrosse (2002). As a Conn-Selmer Education Clinician and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Art & Creativity Consultant, his career spans 25 years in instrumental music education across East Troy, LaCrosse, and Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
His research interests focus on innovative music pedagogy, creativity integration in K-12 education, and policy development for arts education. Gleason's work emphasizes teacher excellence and community engagement through music.
- Awards: National Teacher of the Year finalist (first Wisconsinan in 50 years), Global Teacher Prize Top 50, and multiple state/national honors
Though not directly supervising formal advisees, his mentorship impacts thousands of music educators through clinics, workshops, and policy advisory roles.
