Dr. Chris Cox is a Research Assistant at Swansea University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, supporting the Geopolitical Challenges Research Institute (GCRI) and Climate Action Research Network (CARN). He holds a PhD in Middle Eastern Politics from the University of Exeter, awarded through a full ESRC 1+3 Scholarship. His research focuses on youth political agency, authoritarian resilience, and transnational football identities in the MENA region, with recent work exploring Morocco's post-2011 Arab Uprising dynamics and the socio-political impacts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Cox also advises on interdisciplinary research collaboration and funding bid development.
