Dr. Chris Colvin is a Reader in Economic History at Queen's University Belfast's Department of Economics and Co-Director of the Centre for Economic History (QUCEH). His research focuses on the intersection of economics and history, with expertise in banking crises, monetary policy, cooperative institutions, and demographic history. He holds a PhD in Economic History from the London School of Economics and has held visiting fellowships at institutions like Erasmus University Rotterdam and Utrecht University.

Research Interests: His work explores the long-term economic impacts of historical events, including the Great Irish Famine, pandemics, and financial crises. Current projects include analyzing the decline of the Irish language in the 19th century and the financing of innovative firms in early 20th-century Britain.
