Prof. Dr. Chris BURTIN is a Senior Lecturer at Hasselt University's Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences, within the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy. He is affiliated with the Rehabilitation Sciences Research Group and the Biomedical Research Institute. His research focuses on rehabilitation strategies for chronic respiratory conditions like COPD and lung cancer, emphasizing exercise physiology, pulmonary rehabilitation, and functional outcomes. He actively supervises PhD students in topics such as supramaximal exercise training, extracellular vesicles in metabolic diseases, and long-term outcomes post-lung surgery.
