معرفی
Professor Chris Abbiss is the Dean of Graduate Research at Edith Cowan University (ECU), leading Higher Degree by Research programs. He holds the position of Professor of Exercise Physiology within the School of Medical and Health Sciences. His research focuses on applied human physiology and exercise performance, with specific emphasis on cycling, fatigue, thermoregulation, pacing strategies, training modalities, and recovery. Collaborations include the Australian Institute of Sport, Cycling Australia, and Team BikeExchange.
Research Outputs: Over 140 refereed journal articles, 32 Scopus h-index, 3000+ citations, and $9M in competitive grant funding. Key research projects include optimizing cycling performance through data analytics, gut health in athletes, and metabolic profiling for chronic disease.
- Selected Awards: Not explicitly listed
- Supervision: 15+ PhD/Master's students across cycling physiology, combat sports, gut health, and metabolic research
His recent publications examine high-intensity interval training in temperature extremes, single-leg cycling hemodynamics, athlete monitoring frameworks, and time-motion analysis reliability in combat sports. Methodological studies include power meter validation and pacing strategy quantification.
