Chitru S. Fernando is a Professor of Finance and holds the Rainbolt Chair in Finance at the University of Oklahoma (OU). He serves as Director of the Division of Finance and Director of the Center for Financial Studies. Previously, he was Founding Director of the Price College Energy Institute and has held faculty roles at the University of Michigan, SMU, Tulane, and Carnegie Mellon. His research focuses on corporate finance, risk management, energy finance, and liquidity risk. Fernando has secured 15 external grants and published 46 articles in top journals like the Journal of Finance and Journal of Financial Economics. He is a three-time recipient of the Price College Dean's Research Award and won OU’s 2015 Research Impact Award.
