Chin Heng Low

Chin Heng Low is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Australian National University’s Research School of Management. His research focuses on psychological contracts, role identities, self-concepts, career transitions, and experiential learning. Before academia, he held leadership roles in Singapore’s non-profit and public sectors, including Deputy Director at the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre and roles at the Ministry of Trade and Industry and SPRING Singapore. He holds a PhD in Business & Management from the University of South Australia, an MBA from Singapore, and a BSocSci in Economics.

Research Interests: Chin Heng explores how psychological frameworks (e.g., hardiness, hope) influence career trajectories and organizational effectiveness. His work bridges theory and practice through innovative methods like gamification (e.g., HeroClix® for teaching human capital management) and experiential learning via improvisational theatre. His collaborations include Singapore Management University and Singapore University of Social Sciences.

Key Collaborations & Outputs: His 2025 article uses board games to teach human capital management, while 2021 work examines hardiness development through hope theory. Earlier research (2020) applied improvisational theatre to foster shared leadership. These projects emphasize practical applications for organizational resilience and employee development.
