Dr Chiara Martini is an Early Career Research Fellow in Philosophy at Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge. She previously worked as a Departmental Lecturer in Ancient Philosophy at the University of Oxford (associated with Somerville College) and completed her DPhil (PhD) in Philosophy at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Prof Ursula Coope and Dr Michail Peramatzis.

Her research focuses on ancient philosophy of physics and mathematics, particularly the relationship between physical and geometrical modality and the application of geometry to the physical world. She specializes in Aristotelian and Epicurean theories of space, geometry, and physical reality, with a strong emphasis on metaphysical frameworks.
Her recent publications explore functionalist interpretations of Epicurus’ minima (2024), Aristotelian geometrical changes (2023), and traditions in ancient philosophy of mathematics (2023). The articles reflect her interdisciplinary approach to classical philosophy and its implications for modern metaphysics and philosophy of science.
