Chiara Bassetti

Chiara Bassetti is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Research, University of Trento, and Deputy Coordinator of the PhD Program in Sociology and Social Research. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Trento (2010) and has held roles including Tenured Researcher at CNR and Post-doctoral Fellow at multiple institutions. Her research focuses on studies of social interaction, ethnomethodology, workplace studies, and science and technology studies, with a particular emphasis on embodiment, socio-technical systems, and participatory design.

Educational background includes a master's in Communication Sciences from the University of Bologna (2004) and visiting scholar experiences at UC Riverside and King's College London. She has led projects like the SPaRe Lab and the Reworlding Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action, addressing socio-environmental challenges through participatory design. Her work integrates qualitative methods, video analysis, and interdisciplinary approaches to study phenomena like airport security, artistic practices, and collaborative economies.
