Chiara Bellini is a Researcher in Archaeology and Art History of India and Central Asia at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, where she also serves as Director's Delegate for Gender Equality Plan. She holds a Ph.D. in Indian and Tibetan Studies from the University of Turin. Previously, she held positions at Northumbria University (UK) as Ronald Stride Lecturer in Technical Art History and at SOAS (University of London) as a Postdoctoral Researcher on Tibetan monastery collections.
Her research focuses on Buddhist art across Central Asia and South Asia, with particular emphasis on Tibetan and Himalayan cultural heritage, iconography, and material culture. She has conducted studies on temple restoration, scroll paintings, and ritual objects, contributing to the understanding of religious art in trans-Himalayan contexts. Teaching includes courses on South Asian visual culture, modern Indian art, and conservation studies. Her publications span peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, addressing topics from 15th-century temple paintings to contemporary museum practices.
