Chia Hsu

Chia (George) Hsu, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the College for Health, Community and Policy (HCAP) at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His research focuses on immune system interactions with neurological injuries and chronic disease pathophysiology.

Research Interests span immunology, neuroinflammation, and metabolic reprogramming. His work examines how spinal cord injuries exacerbate pulmonary inflammation, mechanisms of NLRP3 inflammasome activation, and long-term complications of viral infections like Long COVID.
