Dr. Cheryl R. Dee is a Lecturer at the School of Information, San José State University, where she teaches courses such as INFO 204 – Information Professions. She previously held academic and leadership roles at Florida State University and the University of South Florida, and served as Director of medical libraries in Lakeland, Florida. Her professional journey spans decades in special, hospital, and medical libraries across the Southeastern U.S.

Dr. Dee's research focuses on library administration, medical and special libraries, digital and virtual libraries, and the history of librarianship. She has conducted significant work on the information-seeking behaviors of health professionals and seniors, particularly those with low vision. Her scholarship bridges historical documentation and modern information access, exemplified by her digital archival project on Martin M. Cummings, former Director of the National Library of Medicine.
Her recent publications reflect a strong trend in health information accessibility, medical librarianship, and the digital preservation of historical library leadership. These works combine archival research, user studies, and practical applications in health information services.

She has also taught at her alma mater, Florida State University, as an Adjunct Professor.
Dr. Dee leads impactful initiatives in digital curation, health information equity, and library leadership development, maintaining active engagement in both academic and professional library communities.
