Cheryl Beck

Cheryl Beck is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the School of Education, State University of New York at Oswego. With 30 years of educational experience, she has taught across all grade levels and served as a teacher leader in the Oswego City School District. Currently, she works as a Literacy Coach at Oswego Middle School and teaches foundational reading skills to pre-service teachers at SUNY Oswego. Her professional development leadership includes roles in curriculum design and teacher training.

Research interests focus on how children develop proficient reading and writing skills, emphasizing the Science of Teaching Reading. She aims to complete her dissertation for a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Beck was recognized by the SUNY Oswego Writing Institute and Oswego County BOCES for her impactful teaching practices.
